Sparks & Silhouettes ist der Ausdruck des Gefühls, dass an einem lauen Sommerabend am Lagerfeuer aufkommt. Das Feuer knistert und die Flammen tanzen zur Melodie alter Erinnerungen vergangener Sommer. Wenn das Feuer niedergebrannt ist, sieht man nur noch die bedrückend wirkenden Silhuetten der Umsitzenden. Doch immer wieder durchberchen Funkenschwärme die Dunkelheit und erleuchten kurzzeitig die Umgebung. Das warme Gefühl von Sicherheit und Geborgenheit erfüllt die Luft.
Das ist Sparks & Silhouettes.
Philipp Künstle formte Sparks & Silhouettes im November 2010 in Los Angeles (USA). Dort lebete und arbeitete er für ein halbes Jahr und entdecke die Liebe zur Musik wieder. Durch NARIP (The National Association of Record Industry Professionals) wurde Peter Sotos von Fireball Music Management auf den 23 jährigen aufmerksam und nahm ihn unter Vertrag. Mit Planet LA Records aus Los Angeles spielte er im Frühjahr 2011 eine US- Tour durch 4 Staaten welche mit 3 Shows beim South by Southwest Festival in Austin (TX) endete. Nun zurück in Deutschland veröffentlichte der Dortmunder seine erste EP “Between Oceans and Skylines” und ist auch hier auf Tour.

Sparks & Silhouettes is the expression of the feeling of a summer day turning into a chilly night, sitting around a bonfire. Songs are being played and stories are being told about passed summers and glory memories. The fire is pretty low so it seems that just silhouettes are surrounding it. But every once a while the fire cracks and a bunch of sparks alights the scenery and suddenly the silhouettes turn into friends again and the feeling of being safe and secure fills the air. This is Sparks & Silhouettes.
Philipp Künstle (Germany) formed “Sparks & Silhouettes” in November 2010 in Los Angeles, CA. He lived and worked there for half a year and found back into music after having played in various bands. Through NARIP (The National Association of Record Industry Professionals) Peter Sotos of Fireball Music Management got wind of the new project and decided to sign him. In Spring 2011 he played a US Tour through 4 States including 3 Shows at SXSW in Austin. Back in Germany the Singer Songwriter from Dortmund released his EP “Between Oceans and Skylines”and is on tour.
